Geartrade Named Stio Resale Partner

Geartrade, an independent online resale platform for used outdoor gear and apparel, has been named the preferred ‘extended product life’ resale partner supporting the Stio Second Turn program.

Stio Second Turn is a circular commerce program designed to give the company’s products the longest life span possible by encouraging trade-ins of gently used apparel and outerwear.

Geartrade supports Stio Second Turn as a preferred independent resale partner, ensuring that trade-ins that aren’t renewable back to a near-original state find a suitable home.

“Our program is still in its infancy, but we’re making progress thanks to partners like Geartrade who share a similar perspective on the outdoor industry and the role it can play in reshaping our supply chains and product life cycles for the better,” said Evan Torrance, VP of Marketing at Stio.

In the past year, Stio Second Turn has redirected more than 2,000 units into the resale market, in part through Geartrade – which provides an ‘extended product life’ sales venue for products that may have ended up in a landfill. It also exposes younger, value-driven customers, who are typically more aware of and interested in upcycling and product renewal. to the brand.
Stio also spotlighted Geartrade in its recent annual stewardship report, highlighting the relationship and its efforts toward outdoor industry sustainability.

“It’s well known that Stio designs gear to withstand some of the world’s most demanding conditions, but what’s less obvious is that those items are capable of having a remarkably long lifespan and many happy owners. At Geartrade, connecting the best gear with the best users is what we do every day,” said Aaron Provine, president of Geartrade.com.
