Snonav App Navigates Slopes for Skiers

Skiers and snowboarders enjoy the thrill and excitement of sliding down a mountain, while others enjoy the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the ski slopes. Many also enjoy the physical activity and exercise that skiing and snowboarding provide, as well as the opportunity to spend time with friends and family in a beautiful outdoor setting. What they do not look forward to is overcrowded trails, bottlenecks and long lines at the lifts.

Now there is an app for that.

Snonav introduces an app that provides routing and navigation for skiers, helping them to maximize time and enjoyment while on the mountain.

To help skiers navigate the slopes, Snonav launched a free heat mapping feature that allows users to receive critical updates of mountain crowds and activity.  Snonav’s real-time tracking alerts users to resort hot spots and provides automatic evaluation of live flow status and bottlenecks. Snonav skiers can view if there is high activity on certain trails or lift areas and then can receive rerouting suggestions to help avoid lines and crowds on the slopes.

Snonav is endorsed by the National Ski Patrol for its advanced technology and safety features. Snonav has revolutionized the way skiers spend a day at the mountain through its proprietary and fully tested technology including turn-by-turn audio navigation, start-and-end-point navigation, live open and closed status for lifts. Snonav users can set their ability level for customized ski routes.

“Our biggest motivator is always how we can make skiing and snowboarding a better experience,” said Robert Petcove, CEO and founder of Snonav. “We’re able to offer robust and unique features because all of our technology is built from the ground up. Mountain routing is complicated and can’t be done using existing technology or data. This is largely why no other player has tackled true navigation for skiing.”
