Saitex Reveals Vietnam Mill Renderings with Opening Date

Saitex, a denim factory that is bluesign approved, Fair Trade, and LEED-certified, revealed the final exterior renderings for its upcoming Vietnam mill, opening in August.

Under the leadership of Sanjeev Bahl, Saitex has become a B Corporation with unrivaled technology and sustainability impact in the fashion apparel manufacturing industry. Its current facilities, based outside Ho Chi Minh City and a recently built semi-automated factory in Los Angeles, measure 22 cubic acres and 52,000 sq ft, respectively.

The Vietnam facility produces an average of 18,000 pairs of jeans per day and with a $2 million recycling system on-site, the water consumption for each pair of jeans is reduced from 80 liters to 1.5 liters.

With a focus on removing any impact on the outside world, the entire facility is supported by renewable energy sources while minimizing all waste products or reinventing them into materials used to build orphanages in neighboring cities or for use in home goods.

Saitex’s Rekut initiative (www.rekut.org), a program to employ differently-abled persons, was named the winner of Reuters Responsible Business Awards 2020 – Diversity & Inclusion and was a Finalist in the APAC Category of Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards.

The new plant opens in August and is located in the Nhon Trach Industrial Zone, Dong Nai, about 40 minutes from the current facility.
