Big Gear Show Announces Schedule

The Big Gear Show announced its events and education schedule for its 2023 show, June 8-11, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. The show includes several events for attendees during its four days and will feature speakers on topics relevant to retailers and consumers.

The show begins Thursday with a Keynote Panel Discussion. “Pathways for Developing a Strong, Inclusive Outdoor Industry” will feature speakers from leading national organizations, providing actionable insights on workforce development and growing meaningful talent pipelines. Retailers, brand leaders and all industry advocates will benefit with tangible takeaways for businesses.

The panelists are:

“As the outdoor industry has grown to $862 billion in economic output with more Americans than ever before getting outdoors, it is critical that we look inward at the 4.5 million outdoor recreation jobs created across the country and discuss strategies and opportunities to bolster the outdoor recreation workforce,” said Chris Perkins, Senior Director at Outdoor Recreation Roundtable. “We look forward to sharing with the Big Gear Show audience and discussing the results of several months of research on the core opportunities for the outdoor workforce to become more resilient, inclusive, and effective in the years to come.”

Retailer education sessions will include relevant business topics led by show sponsors Locally and WTM Digital.

In addition, retailers can attend sessions on sustainability and workplace development led by industry experts as well as attend the (e)revolution show and sessions on relevant e-bike topics.

The consumer education program begins on June 10 with a panel discussion on careers in the outdoor industry. Additional consumer-focused topics include presentations on inclusion and accessibility, mindfulness, and protecting wildlife.
