APJeT Unveils Dry Plasma Process for Applying Finishes

Apjet Inc. is promoting what it calls a “revolutionary new technology” that removes water from the finishing process and uses atmospheric plasma to cure hydrophobic finishes to fabrics and other substrates. The technology will be on display at the Textile Machinery Booth Nov. 12-19 in Hall 14 (Booth H14-F105) at ITMA 2015 in Milan, Italy.

According to the company the new Dry Plasma Process has little to no effect on fabric hand or color and safely treats fabrics and other substrates, such as films, made from heat-sensitive fibers and materials. APJeT’s patented dry plasma process also significantly reduces the amount of energy and chemicals needed to achieve a durable, high performance finish, said the company.

Back in May of this year, APJeT announced it would work with VF Corporation to explore potential uses for its textile finishing technology.
