Amer Sports, which owns the Salomon apparel and footwear and Suunto sports instruments brands, acquired Sports Tracker, a digital sports application and online service also based in Finland. Sports Tracker will be part of Amer Sports Digital Ecosystem.
Amer Sports says the acquisition will allow it to strengthen its digital platform with the primary objective to further drive connected devices sales and e-commerce.
Amer Sports said Sports Tracker, which is a spin-off of mobile telephone maker Nokia, has a strong technology platform and capability, and a recognized digital service which is used globally.
The agreement is subject to the customary closing conditions. The closing of the acquisition is expected by the end of June 2015. The acquisition has no material impact on Amer Sports 2015 business results
