New performance-focused brand RSVR Hydration said it has introduced a “fundamentally different approach to hydration.” The patent-pending design combines an aerodynamic, body-contoured bladder with a modular front harness or vest platform to minimize drag, reduce weight, and improve stability while delivering optimized capacity and intuitive access, said the company.
The RSVR Hydration System was launched in early May on Kickstarter. The crowdfunding campaign is fully funded and backers will receive their RSVR Hydration Systems in August, 2026.
“Most hydration setups on the market are iterations of the same decades-old design: a bag inside a bag,” said Austin Waggoner, designer at RSVR Hydration. “We took an entirely new approach, with hydration as a performance system rather than a storage accessory. The RSVR Hydration System keeps only what’s necessary, reducing weight and creating the ultimate performance system that’s great for cyclists, runners and other endurance and competitive athletes.”
The RSVR Product Suite is built around a modular, interchangeable platform so athletes can adapt their setup as their goals, terrain, and the change in seasons. Reservoirs, sleeves, and fronts, such as the Lite Harness and All Terrain Vest, are designed to integrate seamlessly, allowing users to scale capacity up or down without replacing the entire system.
Highlights of the system include a patent-pending three-piece, body-contoured reservoir that conforms to the athlete’s back, reducing standoff, bounce, and drag compared to traditional flat bladders, said the company, while shaped geometry stores more fluid in less space, enabling slimmer profiles and improved load distribution. Multiple internal baffles stabilize fluid movement to maintain balance and comfort at speed, while a waterproof zipper enables easy filling, thorough cleaning, and straightforward servicing. A complete harness and 1.8L bladder system weighs just 320 grams (0.7 lbs).
