Turtle Fur Announces B Corp Certification

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, outdoor headwear and accessories brand, Turtle Fur, announced that on Dec. 21, it became a Certified B Corporation (B Corp.), joining a community of leaders committed to doing business for good. To achieve B Corp certification, Turtle Fur underwent a lengthy review of business practices and operations, measuring the effect those have on its people, community and the environment.

The results are scored, and companies must meet a minimum score to achieve certification. Becoming B Corp certified means a company is committed to using business as a force for positive change.

Turtle Fur inspires an outdoor lifestyle by promoting socially and environmentally conscious living and creating comfortable products for every adventure(r). As a part of its B Corp certification, protecting people and planet are key to allowing it to fulfill this mission, and every day it strives to improve.

“We are excited and honored to be part of the B Corp movement. We have a strong history of focused work on giving, sustainability and inclusion, and becoming a B Corp allows us to continue to extend our positive impact on people and planet,” said Turtle Fur’s VP of Product Meghan Ksiazek.

As a part of the certification, Turtle Fur has been verified as meeting B Lab’s standards for social and environmental impact. It also has made a legal commitment to stakeholder governance and is demonstrating accountability and transparency by disclosing this record of performance in a public B Corp profile.

Turtle Fur joins more than 6,000 B Corps in 89 countries, 42 of which are in Vermont.
