Super Pacific, a manufacturer of lightweight truck campers and integrated pop-tops for adventure vans, announced a new program to engineer an update to its X1 camper. This release would specifically accommodate the Rivian R1T. Super Pacific noted that it will begin production once it receives 10 deposits for this new fitment for its existing X1 camper.
Initial depositors will have visibility in the design process and a front-row seat on how the product is made.
The initial deposit will go toward the existing price of the X1 Camper ($14,495). Due to the Rivian R1T’s unique characteristics, Super Pacific has identified several design changes to support the new fitment. Although these additional considerations will elevate the final retail price of the Rivian camper, first adopters participating in this program will have the opportunity to purchase the R1T model at the current X1 pricing.
“We are super-fans of the innovation and ambition behind Rivian’s R1T,” said Super Pacific co-founder and CEO, Peter Williams. “We have had enough inquiry from Rivian owners that we’re ready to take on the design challenge of an X1 Camper for the R1T, despite its unique complexity and relatively small numbers on the road. We hope to validate that the expressed interest translates to real demand, so we came up with the ‘launch team’ concept to include Rivian owners in the development journey and ensure our investment in the fitment is right for Super Pacific. We’ve been eyeing the EV market for a while now and we are super stoked to kick off the Rivian development!”
