Polar Unveils the Polar Grit X2 Pro Watch

Wearable sports and fitness technology company Polar announced the next generation of its ultra-durable, capable outdoor sports watch.

The Polar Grit X2 Pro has been reimagined with a AMOLED touchscreen display, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, high-strength stainless-steel front casing, dual-frequency GPS and bio-sensing technology that is powered by Polar Elixir. Polar Grit X2 Pro also offers robust navigation tools such as offline maps, plus training, recovery and sleep-tracking features. The release is based on Polar’s decades of science, innovation and dedication, and offers a stylish wearable with a classic look, rugged design and build.

“Science, precision and grit are the values embodied by our Grit X Pro watches that have long been popular with military personnel, firefighters and those that train in the most demanding conditions,” said Sander Werring, Polar Electro CEO. “With the Polar Grit X2 Pro, we’ve taken that precision, durability and design to the next level, offering accessible biosensing and sports features to empower everyone to explore their own capabilities and the world around them with total confidence and style.”

The Polar Grit X2 Pro is also available in a special Titan edition, featuring
a lighter, refined front casing made of aerospace titanium – instead of stainless steel – plus an additional leather wristband with anti-bacterial cork inner lining for
premium comfort, breathability and style.

The new Polar Grit X2 Pro is built to military 810H standards, meaning that its durability can withstand demanding conditions such as high altitude, low pressure,
exposure to high and low temperatures, immersion, corrosion and other adverse circumstances.

It also offers a high-precision, dual-frequency GPS and newly-designed signal-boosting antenna, accompanied by a suite of navigation and routing tools, including built-in topographic maps, a “Breadcrumbs” capability, turn-by-turn navigation powered by komoot and, coming soon, Strava route sync. The watch comes pre-installed with maps of Europe and North America, including detailed buildings, parks, major road networks, streets and waterways. For the ultimate topographic map experience, users can download even more detailed maps with contour lines and additional regions, for free, in Polar Flow.

Polar Grit X2 Pro also offers up to 140 hours (eco training mode), 43 hours (performance training mode) or 10 days (smartwatch mode) of battery life. Also included are a built-
in flashlight and 32GB of storage for saving training data, maps and multiple routes for
offline use. Plus, a 3D speed metric calculates true speeds as users move upwards and onwards.

At the core of Polar Grit X2 Pro is Polar Elixir, the company’s sensor fusion
technology platform that brings fourth-generation optical heart rate
tracking, wrist-based ECG readings, SpO2 blood oxygen levels and nightly skin temperature monitoring.

The Grit X2 Pro will be available for pre-order from Polar.com starting March 20, with
sales commencing on all channels from April 3.
