Be part of the Olympic Winter Games by creating artwork for Olympian Breezy Johnson’s helmet.
Breanna Noble “Breezy” Johnson is an American World Cup alpine ski racer on the U.S. Ski Team. Born in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Johnson grew up in Victor, Idaho, and made her World Cup debut in December 2015.
Johnson learned to ski in her parent’s driveway. She competed in her first ski race at age 5, with her stuffed fox shoved into her purple bib snow pants. Watching ski racing from a young age meant she never imagined doing anything with her life beyond ripping down mountains and sought to win even her youth races with a vigor that shocked many.
Along the way she fought for better and more equal treatment of her teammates, a role that was formalized when her teammates voted her to be their Athlete Liaison. She qualified for her first Olympics in 2018 and has fought back from two severe knee injuries since then to become a medal favorite for the 2022 Games.
Along her journey to the top of her sport Johnson has sought to better the sport itself through leadership roles. She also serves on the Alpine Sport Committee to promote change within ski racing in the United States below the national team level.
Participants can submit a photographed image of their artwork in any still medium — pencil, ink, chalk, digital art, oil, or watercolor. Submissions must be based on the theme “Winter in Jackson Hole” (e.g., skiing, ski racing, wildlife, Town of Jackson, Teton Village).
The actual work must be created on an 8.5×11-inches or 11×17-inches piece of paper. Entries will be accepted through January 15.
Johnson will choose the finalists, and a group of judges and the winner will be selected by public voting on Instagram at @jacksonhole and announced this month.
The artist who is chosen the winner must provide the original artwork to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for a hi-resolution scan. If the artwork is digital, the entry must be submitted at 300 dpi.
The grand prize includes:
- Artwork placed on Breezy’s Olympic Helmet
- A half-day of skiing with Breezy
- A pair of skis or snowboard
- Helmet with art
