Snow Peak Begins Development on Innovative Campground, Gathering Site

Snow Peak, the Japanese outdoor lifestyle brand, is embarking on its next adventure cultivating restorative experiences in nature, as it starts development on its Campfield in Long Beach, Washington.

The Long Beach Campfield is a 25-acre campground and community gathering center with the mission to unite people and alleviate the stresses of modern life through time together outside.

A natural extension of Snow Peak, The Long Beach Campfield brings the brand’s purpose to life. Built with community and the healing power of the outdoors in mind, it is designed to help foster human connection and experiences with the rhythms of nature.

Situated on the north side of the Columbia River, the Long Beach Campfield is located between Portland, Oregon, and Seattle. The ocean side of the peninsula features one of the longest continuous beaches in the world, and the eastern portion is home to the pristine Willapa Wildlife Refuge.

Working in conjunction with landscape architects 2.Ink Studio of Portland, EFA Architects of Long Beach, Washington, and Helligso Construction of Astoria, Oregon. Construction of the site will be executed with extreme care for the natural environment. With the intention to enhance the land and connect humans more fully to nature, the project will restore four acres of onsite wetlands, bolstering the ecosystem by improving its ecological value.

Guided by six camp fields owned and operated by Snow Peak in Japan, the experience centers on community and thoughtful amenities to help people reconnect to nature. The Long Beach Campfield will include a heated soaking tub and sauna in a Japanese-inspired onsen and spaces for gatherings and interactive programming.

Guests will park their cars in a lot at the entrance to the Campfield and transport their gear to their site via footpaths and high-efficiency carts. This allows for a camping experience in total harmony with nature.

Visitors can enjoy endless outdoor adventures including beachcombing, coastal hiking, surfing, paddling, cycling, wildlife viewing, fishing, crabbing, clam digging, and boating. The Long Beach Campfield will include a variety of camping experiences from traditional walk-up campsites to tent platforms and campervan sites.

Also available for individual and group use are Jyubako mobile cabins, designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma. These units feature comfortable bedding, Snow Peak cabin amenities, and private bathroom. A Snow Peak retail store will be onsite, featuring Snow Peak products for sale or rent, a market for prepared meal kits, grocery, and camping sundries.

The Long Beach Campfield will welcome guests for the full 2023 camping season.
