Sierra Trading Post to Open 15 Doors

The TJX Cos., parent of onmi-channel retailer Sierra Trading Post, is not deterred by sporting goods bankruptcy and talk that brick and mortar has little place in the future of retail. At the company’s earning call last week, it announced plans to accelerate the opening of Sierra Trading Post physical location, with 15 stores set to open in 2017.

In 2016, Sierra Trading Post opened four stores bring the total to 12. So TJX plans to more than double the number of store in one year. Sierra Trading was acquired by TJX in December 2012.

TJX also said it was significantly shifting Sierra Trading Post’s online strategy from one dependent of heavy promotions to “everyday value.”
