Selk’bag Adds Industry Leader to Advisory Board

Selk’bag, the original wearable sleeping bag brand, has welcomed outdoor industry leader Paul Fish to its advisory board. Fish’s four decades of leadership experience dovetails perfectly with Selk’bag’s corporate responsibility efforts, sustainable growth plans and general business operations.

“2020 was a pivotal year for the company, with exponential sales growth, consolidating our partnership with REI, landing MEC in Canada and doubling down our commitments to sustainability efforts by converting our entire line to 100 percent post-consumer recycled materials,” said Cristobal Murillo, co-founder and CEO of Selk’bag. “These accomplishments have been partially inspired by Paul’s efforts and now will benefit from his expertise even further. We’re honored to have the depth and caliber of his knowledge to help usher Selk’bag into our next chapter.”

Fish, a Bay Area native, attended Whitman College and Western Washington University before launching Mountain Gear in Spokane, Washington, in 1983. Under his leadership, the company’s growth was anchored in sustainability with the visionary brand winning “Sustainable Retailer of the Year” by Backpacker Magazine. An avid climber, backpacker and dedicated van life enthusiast, Fish has also served on the board of the Access Fund.
