Royal Robbins Celebrates 50 Years of Adventure

Royal Robbins has unveiled its Spring 2019 collection of adventure-ready clothing aimed at avid travelers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Poised for growth as a new member of the Fenix Outdoor family, Royal Robbins has set its sights on being the largest, most sustainable travel brand in the world.

“Being a part of Fenix Outdoor provides us with one of the larger platforms in the outdoor space to tell our authentic story, reach new consumers, and access new international markets at an accelerated pace.” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Robbins Michael Millenacker. “The brand is very well-positioned to build on our 50 years of heritage and drive significant growth.”

With a new logo inspired by the travel signs we see on our treks and travels and the pine trees of Yosemite, Royal Robbins is more aggressively calling out its focus on travel and commitment to sustainability.

Taking Royal Robbins one step closer to achieving its vision is the company’s new partnership with the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund (ATCF). A non-profit that provides funding, connections, and an international spotlight on projects that protect cultural and natural resources of the adventure travel tourism industry, ACTF’s mission closely aligns with that of the founding vision of Royal Robbins.

“The Royal Robbins brand was born from adventure. For 50 years, our customers have looked to us for the versatile apparel they need for active travel,” explained Millenacker. “Joining the ACTF was a natural choice as we see the need to protect places globally where our customers want to travel to most.”

Inspired by adventure, the Royal Robbins Spring 2019 collection features new technologies and heritage fabrics while remaining firmly committed to Royal’s founding vision of environmental stewardship and sustainability, which is strongly rooted at the core of the business.

The line is segmented into two product categories for Spring 2019: Roam comprises of versatile and refined style with performance properties for the active urban traveler, while Venture consists of performance-driven essentials for active adventure traveler.

Among the new fabrics in the Roam category is Stain Release technology made from HeiQ Soil Release. This innovative soil-release technology is hydrophilic and increases both the absorbency and the moisture-wicking properties of the garment in order to allow water to enter and freely exit fabric, and thus carrying stains out as the water passes through. For Spring 2019, this new fabric technology is found in women’s Spotless Traveler garments and the City Traveler shirts and jacket for men.

Also for Spring 19, Royal Robbins plans to expand its use of its ultra-wicking and naturally cooling TempraTech thermoregulation technology with the additions of versatile garments for men and women.

Falling into the Venture product category, Royal Robbins’ Bug Barrier collection is more robust for Spring 2019 with new styles in bright colors and prints.

For women, Royal Robbins will expand its Jammer Knit collection with a new versatile ankle pant and a new dress. Returning to the men’s lineup are Royal Robbins favorites, including: Vista Dry button up shirts, Active Traveler Stretch Pant and Shirt, Everyday Traveler Short and Pant; and the Traveler Convertible Jacket.
