Ripton & Co. Drops ‘Coastal Cruisin’

Ripton & Co., a brand in advanced, technical active stretch denim, just dropped Coastal Cruisin’,an alternative film that embodies Ripton’s ethos of adventure, forges new connections and rides bikes all while highlighting the joys cruising in denim along California’s coast.

“The goal of the film was to go on an adventure, line it up with interesting individuals who live Ripton’s values in their daily lives and interact with them through a conduit which is this old, funky, fun car,” said Thomas Hudson, marketing coordinator, Ripton.

From gravel riders in Laguna Beach and cross-country cyclists in San Diego to fixed-gear enthusiasts in Los Angeles, as well as mountain bikers and antique bike aficionados in Santa Barbara, the Ripton crew encountered, conversed and cycled alongside remarkable individuals, all the way from the Mexican border to California’s central coast.

“Like the new kid in school, everyone was curious and fascinated by the paradoxical nature of Ripton and performance denim as a category,” said Elliot Wikson-Ray, founder, Ripton. “It felt like daring to be different was even more of a rare commodity in the constant development of suburban California. Performance denim reminds us of that daily. The gravity of sameness, the march of newness and affluence are powerful forces.”
