Paka Apparel Launches Program with Traceable Alpaca Sweater

Paka, a sustainable alpaca fiber apparel company, has launched a traceable alpaca sweater, as part of its Origin program to prove small-scale, regenerative agriculture is a path towards a more connected and sustainable future.

Paka has emphasized the connection between its clothing, Peru, and the women who create each piece. The release of the Origin program takes this mission a step further. Using fiber sourced directly from small farms in the Andes Mountains, customers can pinpoint the exact location of where the alpaca lives, taking the guesswork out of knowing where your clothing originates.

Customers can scan a QR code on the Oat Hoodie hang tag to pinpoint the location of origin and learn about the alpacas and farmers who care for and raise them highlighting the importance of small farms and their impact on the environment. Customers also will receive a Origin Certificate from Paka’s partnership with the AsociaciĂ³n Internacional de la Alpaca (AIA).

The Oat Hoodie features a triple panel hood, comfort-V neckline, and flexible Knit on both sides of the sweater for breathability and flex. The Oat Hoodie retails for $129 and can be found at pakaapparel.com
