McCoy Joins Sea to Summit Leadership Team

Australian brand Sea to Summit announced that seasoned outdoor industry executive Sally McCoy has joined the company’s global leadership team. McCoy will occupy the newly created position of executive chair of Sea to Summit and will assume responsibility for the brand’s global strategy and expansion.

McCoy joins Sea to Summit after serving as CEO of CamelBak, president of Sierra Designs and vice president at The North Face. She also has served as board chair for the Outdoor Industry Association, Conversation Alliance, and Outdoor Foundation.

Earlier this year, Sea to Summit acquired the brand’s long-time North American distributor in a series of global growth strategies. The brand is looking forward to 2021 with its most ambitious product category to date, technical backcountry tents.

“We had the privilege of working with Sally when Sea to Summit became the Australian distributor of CamelBak and quickly became good friends,” said Roland Tyson, founder and head of design at Sea to Summit, and Penny Sanderson, the company’s co-owner and director. “We’re extremely fortunate to have her high-caliber industry experience and collaborative leadership style as we continue to experience major transformation as a global adventure brand.”

Based in the United States, McCoy will work closely with the North American Sea to Summit office, led by Josh Simpson, as well as provide strategic leadership for the company’s global wholesale distribution, manufacturing, marketing, and direct-to-consumer business.
