Mammut, The Lady Alliance Announce DEI Partnership

Mountain safety and outdoor brand Mammut and The Lady Alliance, a community built to unite mental health and adventure, have teamed up to create a safe space, platforms, conversation and education on social issues covering diversity, equality and inclusivity in the outdoors.

Mammut and The Lady Alliance formed a partnership earlier this year to hold a virtual adventure safety experience for participants around the globe, from The Lady Alliance’s 30 chapters in North America to Mammut’s extensive community, and the brands are now syncing to amplify BIPOC and LGBTQIA voices through a shared mission.

One way is through Mammut’s “Sharing the Mic” initiative with The Lady Alliance ambassador and diversity consultant, Amil Reddy (They/Them), to showcase the powerful and authentic voices of the outdoors. Reddy’s video can be found at The Lady Alliance and Mammut’s instagram pages, @theladyalliance and @mammutna.

“The outside is for all of us,” shares Reddy in the video. “And my hope is that we all have equal access to it and we are also all seen and heard and valued for all the things we are.”

Along with Sharing the Mic, Mammut has committed to a six-month diversity program with The Lady Alliance, where consultant Reddy will lead Mammut through a company-wide audit as well as workshops and training, to help ensure a diverse and inclusive environment for its staff. The two brands also will be focused on sharing conversation and education with their respective and combined networks through social media, campaigns and events.

“As the Lady Alliance unpacked and unlearned our own biases in order to ensure we were representing our community compassionately for all, we wanted to ensure that our partners were aligned with this important value. Mammut has shown that this mission is more than just posting a black square; they are dedicated to action in this area of essential growth, and we look forward to walking hand in hand with Mammut for the next six months as we consult on ways Mammut North America can grow to become more diverse and inclusive,” said Kieren Britton (She/Her), The Lady Alliance CEO and founder.

“Our goal and mission has always been to create a safe environment for everyone to enjoy the outdoors,” emphasized Maddie Petry (She/Her), marketing director Mammut NA. “At Mammut North America, we realized the opportunity to be better stewards of this mission and create concrete actions that break down barriers in the outdoor space. As a brand we vowed to listen, learn, and start working towards solutions that will create lasting change in our industry. We are beyond grateful to be partnering with The Lady Alliance through an omni-channel approach to support the promise of doing better and being better as a brand and as individuals.”
