Kelty Enters CBD Market

Known for value-oriented hardgoods for the campsite such as camp chairs, sunshades, tends and more to help one relax and recover after a long day of backpacking or hiking, Kelty has now introduced CBD salves, creams, and sprays to help ease aching muscles.

Kelty now offers a roll-on gel stick, salve, cream, “after sun” lotion and two sprays – one anti-itch, the other antibacterial. But the real differentiators, according to Kelty, are twofold: Everything is specifically formulated for pain relief, and it uses U.S. made, FDA-approved ingredients.

Company Senior VP and General Manager Russ Rowell said Kelty plans to further evolve CBD within its offerings and make it “one of our core competencies.” For now, the brand proudly touts its CBD products specifically relieve pain.

According to Rowell, most CBD products on the market dance around pain relief without receiving FDA approval.

Kelty’s CBD debut includes six products — all 100 percent THC-free and non-psychoactive:
• CBD Antibacterial Spray ($40)
• CBD Itch Relief Spray ($30)
• CBD After Sun Lotion ($30)
• CBD Pain Relief Cream ($40-50)
• CBD Pain Relief Salve ($40)
• CBD Pain Relief Gel Roll-On ($30)
