Isbjörn Recruits Sourcing & Production Manager with Sustainability Expertise

Premium, technical and sustainable outdoor kids wear brand, Isbjörn of Sweden, has recruited former H&M product developer Selma Jakobsson as its new sourcing and production manager. This is part of the company’s strategy and vision to push the boundaries for sustainability within the kids and teen functional apparel market.

Jakobsson started her first sustainable textile company, Mottainai NY, focused on denim menswear, in 2005, while studying fashion and communication at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The company inspired HBO to make a fictional series about it.

Building knowledge and experience as a production agent in New York for premium brands such as Ralph Lauren and Hilfiger, Jakobsson joined H&M in 2013. From her time at H&M, she has been stationed in Bangladesh and China, where she was responsible for sourcing and supplier development within the kids’ segment.

With this knowledge, Jakobsson is ready to return to the entrepreneurial scene to help Isbjörn take its sustainability vows to the next level. She will be a part of the management team and will be responsible for its product offering, from idea to product in the warehouse.
