Implus Shutters Highgear Brand

Performance watch and accessory brand Highgear has been closed by its parent company Implus, according to reports. Implus will honor existing warranties but no new product offerings are being planned.

Implus will reportedly turn focus to its Fitness Division to serve this category. The division includes Perfect Fitness, FitDeck and New Balance Sports Monitors. Perfect Fitness, for one, is introducing the Perfect IQ wrist-worn activity tracker, while New Balance sports monitor segment has three new wearables launching this fall: LED Sport Armband (for iPhone 5S and older), LED Magneto Safety Light and NBX 1010 Smart Band.

Implus acquired Highgear, which also operated the licensed New Balance line, in 2009, marking Implus’ first expansion beyond footwear accessories.
