Deuter Deepens Commitment to Sustainable Backpack

Deuter, a leader in backpacks and outdoor equipment, extends its commitment to functional, stylish and sustainably produced outdoor goods in Fall 2021 with the launch of a product line that is 100 percent free of harmful perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and includes bluesign approved materials as well as recycled fabrics.

Highlights for the season include the outdoor-inspired Heritage Series daypack collection, Freescape Pro ski and snowboard packs and three durable, consciously produced AViANT Duffel Pro luggage options.

Headlining the Fall 2021 collection for deuter is the Heritage Series of outdoor-inspired urban daypacks celebrating the brand’s 123 years. Featuring three styles inspired by late 20th-century pack design trends, the Heritage Series delivers the functional, sustainable design with an old school, stylish twist.

As with every deuter product since Summer 2020, each Heritage Series pack is PFC-free, and they are each bluesign-approved featuring recycled materials that meet the strictest environmental standards. Whether carrying a load of books or gear for a day hike, the deuter Contact Back System evenly distributes weight for a comfortable, cushioned fit.

The Innsbruck ($100) takes you back to the ’70s in style with a clever compartment design that keeps city-dwellers organized while out and about, from running errands to commuting to work. The Innsbruck makes a statement with vintage-inspired closures and cord zipper pulls and features plenty of space and pockets to organize belongings, cell phone, tablet and padded laptop compartments, and an internal bottle pouch. With similar features and functionality, the Wengen ($120) and Lake Placid ($130) are inspired by the ’80s and ’90s, respectively, with heavy-duty recycled Polyamide and Ripstop fabrics.

Also new for Fall 2021 is the Freescape Pro ($175), a dedicated snow sports and mountaineering pack that carries loads securely and comfortably with the deuter ALPINE suspension system and a Delrin U-frame. Available in 40-liter and 38-liter SL options, the Freescape Pro series features an avalanche equipment compartment with reinforced shovel sleeve and organizer pockets, a side smartphone pocket, stowable gear straps to affix skis, a snowboard or snowshoes, and easy side access to the main compartment.

The main 235-denier recycled Polyamide fabric is bluesign certified and backed in heavy-wear areas by 420-denier and 630-denier Polyamide to add durability and water resistance to withstand the wear and tear of sharp edges and rough conditions.

The AViANT Duffel Pro ($130/$140/$150) is deuter’s newly redesigned collection, developed for active adventurers who need a durable, water-resistant duffel. Available in 40-, 60- and 90-liter options, the bluesign-approved AViANT Duffel Pro features 50 percent recycled, 630-denier co-polyester-Polyurethane, which delivers a flexible, lightweight shell in a sleek, sturdy design.

Stowable shoulder straps add versatile carry options. Two large side pockets allow convenient organization for smaller gear items and two zipper mesh pockets inside protect valuables.

The collection will be available in September 2021 at www.deuter.com and at select retail partners. For information, contact Account Manager Maria Brickman: maria.brickman@rygr.us.
