Superfeet, a global insole industry leader, expands its Personalized Fit Experience, to include data-driven insole recommendations. Using lab-quality tools and advanced biomechanics analytic software, trained fit experts at specialty retail locations across the country can now quickly guide people through an insole matching experience to deliver custom-tailored results.
“The structure of a human foot is as unique as a fingerprint and the insole recommendation tool is our way to simplify the complexity of finding the right insole for each person’s foot,” said John Rauvola, Superfeet President and CEO. “Not only does the new system analyze foot biomechanics, dimensions and personal needs in order to recommend Superfeet insoles, it also takes customization to the next level with the option to create individually personalized insoles, 3D-printed at our headquarters in Washington.”
Developed in collaboration with fit-technology leader Volumental, the insole recommendation experience involves three key steps that lead customers to the perfect Superfeet match.
- First, a complete a 3D-scan is executed with a full 360-degree view of each foot, including a range of dimensions like length, width, instep height and arch height.
- Next, the customer walks across a dynamic pressure mat, which captures hundreds of high-resolution data points for in-depth insights into how pressure and forces impact the feet and body during movement.
- Lastly, trained fit experts at specialty retail locations analyze the data and use interactive tablet-based visuals to show customers the similarities and differences between each foot, and how this data influences which insoles are the optimal choice for their unique support and comfort needs.
The data-driven insole recommendation engine reviews a catalog of more than 30 Superfeet insole shapes and feels, to match individuals with their best-fitting insole options, including running-specific insoles, award-winning GREEN Insoles and women-specific BERRY Insoles.
For taking personalization and comfort to the next level, the biometric data from the Personalized Fit Experience can be translated into Superfeet ME3D 3D-printed insoles, specifically designed to match the geometry of the foot and personal movement patterns.
The Personalized Fit Experience is in 42 specialty retail locations across the country, with plans for further expansion.
