Somewear Labs, a leader in off-grid satellite communications, partnered with Protect our Winters (POW) to host the Backcountry Giveaway. The grand prize winner receives a guided, human-powered backcountry adventure for two and a Somewear Global Hotspot to help them navigate and communicate in the backcountry. Second and third place winners receive gear to recreate responsibly.
All contributions raised will be donated to support POW in its work to combat the global climate crisis and to protect winter recreation for generations. The Backcountry Giveaway winners will be announced today.
Since the launch of the Somewear Global Hotspot in 2017, winter backcountry adventurers have relied on its power and reliability to communicate off-grid and navigate with confidence.
These adventurers count on the return of cold, snowy winters each year for quality recreational opportunities to explore, have fun and disconnect from their daily lives. Somewear Labs recognizes the work of POW to advance non-partisan policies that combat the negative effects of climate change on winter recreation.
For POW, partnerships like the Backcountry Giveaway are an important resource for building momentum with key stakeholders.
