Sierra Designs Announces Aspiring Artists Program

Calling all shutterbugs! Sierra Designs has launched its new Aspiring Artists Program, a creative initiative that aims to provide career opportunities, mentorship and high-quality outdoor gear to up and coming adventure photographers.

The eight aspiring visual storytellers selected for this inaugural program will receive Sierra Designs gear to inspire their travels, along with specific projects designed to push their creativity to the next level. Potential assignments include partnerships with non-profits, blog writing and asset creation for product launches. Those chosen will have their work featured on Sierra Designs’ social channels and will be an instrumental part in creating content for the brand’s new IGTV channel. Aspiring Artists will also have the chance to team up with Sierra Designs’ official brand photographer, Peter Amend, for career advice, work critiques and mentorship.

“Sierra Designs has had the pleasure of working with many talented artists and would not be where we are today without their creative vision,” says Sophie Coffey, Brand Manager. “We wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way by supporting the next generation of talent with a visible platform for their work. To be a viable professional, you need both a space in which to practice and a place for your work to be seen. Sierra Designs is uniquely positioned to achieve both ends through our Aspiring Artists Program, which will hopefully become a core piece of who we are as a brand.”

The Aspiring Artist Program will be accepting applications from January 16th through February 1st, 2019.  Aspiring Artists of all races, colors, abilities, socioeconomic backgrounds and sexual orientations are encouraged to apply. Selections will be made February 1st and those accepted into the program will be contacted shortly afterwards. To apply, please visit www.sierradesigns.com/aspiring-artists-application/.
