Nite Ize named Jay Getzel as director of its outdoor/pet/toy division. Getzel, who brings more than 19 years of outdoor industry experience, will oversee current vertical retail channels and develop new relationships in support of Nite Ize’s expansion into the travel category.
In addition, Getzel will be charged with extending the reach of Nite Ize products designed to enhance outdoor adventures and solve everyday challenges. Getzel’s appointment is effective immediately.
Getzel joins Nite Ize from Mountainsmith, where he served in the sales and marketing divisions prior to being named president in 2013. Prior to Mountainsmith, he worked at C.A.M.P USA, Eastern Mountain Sports, Kelty, Smartwool andTimberland.

Nite Ize is celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year by introducing a new logo, focusing on consumer marketing that includes their new “Life’s Adventure Kit” campaign, and securing one of the last available 160,000-square-foot warehouses in Boulder County to serve as their new global distribution headquarters.

Getzel lives in Erie, Colo. with his wife, Julie, and two children.
