Sea to Summit Partners with Big City Mountaineers, City Kids

Sea to Summit, a global manufacturer of adventure equipment, announced partnerships with Washington D.C.-based, City Kids Wilderness Project and Colorado-based, Big City Mountaineers. Throughout August, for every purchase made on Sea to Summit’s website, one dry bag will be donated to the brand’s nonprofit partners.

City Kids Wilderness Project and Big City Mountaineers provide outdoor programming for youth and prioritize diversity and inclusivity. Sea to Summit shares these values and executes a similar mission to enable people to adventure outdoors.

Sea to Summit is providing dry bags to youth in these communities and is hopeful the gear will empower program participants to pursue exciting adventures.

“This is an important partnership for us,” said Margaux Maertens, brand marketing manager at Sea to Summit North America. “We have been long-time partners with City Kids and have just recently started our relationship with Big City Mountaineers – two incredible non-profits focused on empowering youth through the outdoors. The work that each of these organizations does is truly inspiring and we are excited to spread awareness of their mission and support for the youth within their programs.”

City Kids Wilderness Project provides outdoor programming for 6th-12th grade students and was founded on the belief that providing enriching life experiences for D.C. children will enhance their lives, the lives of their families and the greater community.

City Kids uses city, natural and wilderness settings in D.C. and Jackson Hole, Wyo., to achieve its mission to build resiliency, broaden horizons and develop life skills for the 134 youth it serves.

In addition to outdoor adventures, the program provides career exploration and job training for high school students, as well as community service opportunities and social justice workshops.

Big City Mountaineers was founded on the basis that everyone deserves to have an opportunity to discover the life-changing experience that nature offers. By providing free, fully outfitted and professionally led backcountry trips, Big City Mountaineers gives young people the opportunity to connect with nature and develop their strengths, skills, and resilience.

Big City Mountaineers engages youth in seven cities across the country, including Boston, Denver, Miami, Minneapolis, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle. Over the last 30 years, it has conducted nearly 800 expeditions, served more than 10,000 youths, organized 5,000 volunteers and provided nearly 42,000 nights under the stars for the youths.

The “Buy One, Give One” dry bag promotion continues through the end of the month on www.seatosummit.com.
