Ridge Merino Receives California Green Business Certification

Ridge Merino announced today it is one of the first companies in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. to achieve a Green Business Certification from the California Green Business Network.

California Green Businesses enforce practices that help to cut down on cost savings in water, energy, and waste for businesses to make a lasting, sustainable change. Green Businesses not only work toward saving both business and environmental resources but also strive to improve employee wellness and productivity by using less toxic products, said the organization.

“The California Green Business Network leads the state and nation in working with small to medium sized businesses to create a vibrant green economy,” said Lia Webb, coordinator of the Eastern Sierra Green Business with High Sierra Energy Foundation. “We congratulate Ridge for showing such leadership in this program: through employee engagement, recommending other green businesses to the program and doing business with other green businesses, Ridge has served as a terrific Ambassador for the program.”

According to California Green Business Network, a recent survey suggests that demand for green products appears to be increasing: 27 percent of respondents said they are more likely to buy a sustainable product and/or service than five years ago.

“As a Certified Green Business, Ridge is dedicated to sustainability and taking action to prevent pollution within our facilities and daily operations,” said Ridge Founder Jeff Russell. “We are proud to achieve this certification which not only ensures the best working conditions for our team but also holds us to a higher standard to operate as a responsible business overall.”

Ridge joins a vast network of more than 3,000 innovative Green Business Certified companies in California, including REI, Whole Foods and Clif Bar & Company.
