Reima U.S.A Inc., a 78-year-old, Finnish children’s activewear brand focused on designing sustainable and durable kids’ outdoor apparel and footwear, debuted its U.S. Spring/Summer 2023 line. The expanded line for boys and girls embraces Reima’s mission to foster independence and an active lifestyle.
Committed to safety, protection and innovation in sustainability, the line is the most environmentally conscious offering in the brand’s history. Focusing on rain and swimwear, Spring/Summer 2023 uses new technologies, such as sustainably made polyfluoroayl (PFA) substance-free rainwear and SunProof Swimwear with a UPF of 50+. Priced between $20 and $90, the Spring/Summer 2023 line will be available in February 2023 on us.reima.com and at select retailers in the United States.
In total, the new line includes 130 silhouettes (180 including accessories) and 30 footwear styles meeting U.S. demand for families participating in outdoor activities. Specifically, the line features jackets, pants, swimwear, t-shirts, shorts, overalls, dresses and skirts.
Illustrating Reima’s commitment to sustainability, the brand’s 2023 rain collection is PFA-free while swim styles, including tops, bottoms, bikinis, and full suits, focus on sun safety featuring Ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB) protection.
With 20 rainwear SKUS for boys and girls, the collection is waterproof, uses a non-toxic polyurethane coating to guard against “forever chemicals” (PFAs), and uses welded seams ensuring kids remain dry and comfortable. The softshell outerwear is water and windproof and is designed for ease of movement and best-in-class breathability. With all styles featuring UPF 50+, Reima’s SunProof garments shelter kids from UVA and UVB rays up to 50 times longer during playtime. Made from recycled plastic, each child’s one piece is made using four large polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles that might otherwise end up
