REI to Open Missouri Retail Outlet in Spring 2022

Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op will open a new store in spring 2022 in Town and Country, Missouri. The location will offer an assortment of apparel, gear and expertise for camping, climbing, cycling, fitness, hiking, paddling and more. For those who love to adventure on two wheels, a full-service bike shop will be staffed by certified technicians.

“After joining the St. Louis community in 2001, we look forward to expanding our support and impact with our second location in Town & Country,” said Kurt Feilke, REI retail divisional vice president. “In addition to offering expertise and great gear, we will continue to invest in the natural places that make this region so special.”

REI is the country’s largest consumer co-op. While anyone is welcome to shop and tap into the company’s resources in support of an active lifestyle, members enjoy a range of benefits. Perks include a used gear trade-in program in exchange for REI gift cards; discounts on experiences, classes, rentals and shop services; a share of the co-op’s annual profits based on qualifying purchases; and more.

REI actively partners with nonprofits across the country to steward and maintain local trails and public lands to connect more people to the outdoors. Since 2002, the co-op has invested $500,000 in Missouri land agencies and nonprofit partners, of which $180,000 was directed to St. Louis-based nonprofits. Investments this year including Great Rivers Greenway Foundation, Heartland Conservation Alliance, Ozark Trail Association, Trailnet and Urban Trail Co. As REI approaches the opening of the new store, the co-op will continue its support of nonprofits in the local outdoor community.
