OWAA Opens Early Bird Registration for 2022 Conference

The Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA) has opened registration for the 2022 conference and discounted “early bird” pricing will be available until February 28. Regular pricing will start on March 1 and registration will remain open until the event.

The conference will be hosted in downtown Casper, Wyoming, at the Ramkota Hotel and will provide OWAA media members and supporting brands with an opportunity to network with other professionals, find opportunities to sell work, receive instruction on a variety of topics, and hone communications skills. The downtown location will give attendees an opportunity to explore Casper.

The event includes pre- and post-tours for media, an editor’s panel, a photo scavenger hunt, networking events, day trips for partners/spouses, storytelling events, and 14 ‘deep-dive’ instructional workshops. The workshops are focused on professional development and will tackle issues such as journaling, finding clients, how to pitch stories, filmmaking, social media, getting a book published, podcasting and more.

Keynote and breakout sessions will focus on a variety of timely and important topics, including:

  • Getting your first book published
  • Migration corridors
  • Storytelling in native dance
  • Maximizing article placement from trips
  • The diversification of outdoor participants, and more

The event will also have two awards nights, one to recognize OWAA’s most dedicated volunteer leaders and the other to recognize that year’s winners of the Excellence in Craft awards.

OWAA’s conference brings together world-class outdoor media, including writers, photographers, bloggers, podcasters, videographers and more, from a broad spectrum of outdoor specialties to learn, connect and discover all the outdoor offerings of the local hosts.
