Registration is now open for the OUTDOOR INDUSTRY Award 2019. Representing the 14th edition of the honors, this prestigious design award plays an important role in the new-format trade show OUTDOOR Friedrichshafen, said show organizers.
Entries are now open for outdoor manufacturers and suppliers to submit their latest innovations to win one of the industry’s most coveted design awards will be announced at the trade fair taking place September 17-19, 2019 at Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The award is given in 12 categories, including water sports, climbing equipment, camping equipment and sustainability. Entry is open to both exhibitors and non-exhibitors at OUTDOOR Friedrichshafen as well as start-ups. The evaluation process has two stages. First, during the digital pre-selection round all entries are evaluated. Subsequently, the best products are judged during a one-day meeting by an independent and international expert panel with six members. The main distinguishing criteria for an award are: degree of innovation, functionality and design.
“Since its introduction, the OUTDOOR INDUSTRY Award has been an important performance benchmark for innovative new products. It offers important guidance to both retailers and end users when there are so many products in the industry. In addition, the panel of judges’ decisions often provide valuable initial feedback about the commercial opportunities for new products and new technologies,” comments Dirk Heidrich, Show Director, Messe Friedrichshafen. And this year it’s not only about outdoor products. For the first time, there will be a new Retail Award for the best stores. Visitors entering OUTDOOR Friedrichshafen in September via the East Entrance will immediately see the special display of award winners. The grand prize-giving ceremony takes place on the first evening of the show. Moreover, winners receive usage rights for the “OUTDOOR INDUSTRY Award Winner” logos, communication services and are featured online throughout the year in the OUTDOOR INDUSTRY Award Gallery.
