Mountainsmith, a Golden, Colorad-based company that has spent more than 40 years as a gear manufacturer specializing in durable goods for hiking and camping, has opened a headquarters in the historic city where it was founded. The location will be home to their offices, sales, product design and showroom-style retail space.
Mountainsmith always has been committed to providing outdoor enthusiasts with durable gear that can withstand the rigors of any backcountry pursuit. Celebrated for a pioneering spirit that led to a series of breakthrough designs for backcountry adventurers in the 1980s and 1990s. The company has been hailed for its lumbar packs, backpacks, trekking poles, tents and more.
Located at the gateway to a handful of 14,000 foot Rocky Mountain peaks, the company’s new location is perfect for refining and innovating its products while connecting with a community that is invested in the adventure spirit of the mountains.
The offices can be found in a red brick building that has cycled through four companies since 1988; Mountainsmith is here to stay and excited to embrace the community. Located two blocks from the clear creek trail, surrounded by a handful of breweries, coffee shops and restaurants, while also being less than a half mile from the Colorado School of Mines, Mountainsmith is excited to engage and contribute to the growing city.
