Life is Good announced yesterday that it has named consumer marketing veteran and business executive Lisa Tanzer as President. Tanzer will lead day-to-day business operations with a focus on driving continued growth for the brand and its social mission. She was previously Head of Marketing at Life is Good and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Life is Good Kids Foundation for over 20 years.

Prior to Life is Good,Tanzer held marketing and strategy positions at Hasbro, Staples, PricewaterhouseCoopers and The Gillette Company.  Additionally, she held executive positions at start-ups and mid-sized companies, such as SmarterKids.com, Cookie Jar Entertainment, and The Princeton Review. Tanzer received her BA from Tufts University and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business.

“We could not be more excited to promote Lisa Tanzer to President at Life is Good,” said Life is Good Co-founder and CEO (Chief Executive Optimist) Bert Jacobs. “We have been searching for a long time, and no one compared to Lisa. She is the right person to lead our next phase of growth.”

In her role as Head of Marketing at Life is Good, Tanzer has led multiple integrated campaigns that have reached well over 1 billion people across the world. She has forged strategic partnerships with like-minded for-profit and non-profit organizations that have helped spread the power of optimism and support children’s causes. Under her guidance in 2015, the company’s nationwide Life is Good tour donated over $1 million dollars for kids in need. With a passion for social good combined with her marketing and general management experience, Tanzer brings together the best of both worlds in her new role as President of Life is Good.

“There are few brands whose social mission is as aligned with its business mission as Life is Good,” said Tanzer. “The experience of shaping the Life is Good Kids Foundation from its inception as a local non-profit to becoming the national leader in helping kids overcome the impact of poverty, violence, and illness has been an incredible journey. The opportunity to leverage my 20 years in scaling business to continue to grow the Life is Good brand while bringing more good in the world is both rare and exceptional. I couldn’t be more honored and excited for the path ahead.”
