J&H Lanmark Joins Grassroots

Grassroots Outdoor Alliance announced that J&H Lanmark has joined the buying group as a retail member.

J&H Lanmark is a locally owned specialty outdoor store founded in 1972 as an army surplus store. The store’s name came from the two men who founded J&H, Danny Johnson and John Hall. The original store was located on North Broadway in downtown Lexington, Ky. As J&H’s loyal customer base grew and evolved, J&H began offering outdoor apparel, equipment and supplies.

George Lathram, current owner of J&H Lanmark, began working there when he was 16 and stayed there until he graduated from college. In 2006, he purchased the business and is also licensed in property, casualty, life and health insurances, as well as investment securities. He recently received the “Young Entrepreneur Award” for 2012 by the Lexington Chamber of Commerce.

“We are honored to be accepted into the Grassroots family of companies. We are looking forward to utilizing the many resources that Grassroots has to offer,” he said.

With such short notice in joining Grassroots, J&H Lanmark will be unable to attend the Grassroots Early Summit being held from June 9 – 12, 2014 in Loveland, Colo.
