Janji, Oiselle Announce Partnership

Janji, a Boston-based running apparel brand, and Oiselle, a Seattle-based women’s apparel company, announced they will enter into a “collaborative partnership” through a merger. The action is facilitated by Digsbury Ventures, an early-stage venture fund that backs U.S.-made outdoor companies.

Each company will continue to operate independently as a sole entity. But they will combine some staff, resources, markets, and community. Under the partnership, Janji and Oiselle hope to find synergy in their missions to build a “bigger community” in the running industry.

Both brands will continue to foster their distinct running communities, they said in the prepared statement that announced the partnership. Oiselle’s focus remains on performance apparel for women runners. And Janji’s focus is on its global community and giveback mission. Janji’s two percent proceeds from each purchase go toward a rotating group of clean water initiatives worldwide.

Oiselle was founded in 2007, and Janji in 2012. Oiselle’s headquarters will remain in Seattle, and Janji will maintain its base in Boston, respectively. Brand collaborations are expected to debut in spring collections, coming in March.
