Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Set to Begin Summer Operations

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) announced its Aerial Tram will be open to the public beginning on Saturday, marking the official kickoff for summer operations at the resort.

Built in 2008, the Aerial Tram glides skyward from the base in Teton Village to the top of Rendezvous Mountain at 10,450 feet. It is one of the most popular attractions in Jackson Hole.

Guests have been known to spot wildlife along the tram ride, and on reaching the summit, they’re offered stunning views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole Valley and surrounding mountain ranges.

The “Top of the World” tram also provides access to a plethora of trails and opportunities to explore the Bridger-Teton National Forest or Grand Teton National Park.

The Aerial Tram will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 20 through Oct. 8. For day ticket pricing and more information, click here.

The opening of the Aerial Tram is the first in a series of summer opportunities for visitors to enjoy at the resort. For starters, tandem paragliding flights will be available also beginning Saturday. Many of JHMR’s other celebrated summer opportunities — including the Jackson Hole bike park, aerial adventure course, bungee trampoline, climbing wall and Bridger Gondola — are planning to open on June 10, conditions permitting. The  Via Ferrata is expected to open on June 17, conditions permitting.

Because early season conditions still exist, guests who visit the resort in May and early June should bring appropriate clothing to stay warm and dry.

Guests are allowed to ski in the backcountry accessible through the resort’s backcountry gates located near the top of the Aerial Tram, but as part of JHMR’s special use permit with Bridger-Teton National Forest, no skiing is permitted within the ski area boundary after the winter operating season, and there are no ski patrol representatives on duty. Guests with ski gear will be allowed to load the tram but not the gondolas.
