Hillsound Equipment has joined the Responsible Packaging Movement to further develop sustainable practices. The movement, founded by prAna, is uniting and encouraging brands to work towards an industry-wide elimination of plastic and increase the use of non-virgin forest fibers in all product packaging.
Hillsound joins more than 55 like-minded brands in the quest to reduce waste in consumer products. The brand will be redesigning existing and future product packaging to eliminate plastic and use 100 percent recycled or FSC Certified materials. Additionally, it will work with suppliers to eliminate excess packaging across supply chains and aim to eliminate single-use polybags by 2025.
“To ensure future generations can enjoy the outdoors as we have, we need to further minimize our company’s environmental footprint,” said Katie Lawrenuk, Hillsound Equipment’s Operations & Sustainability Coordinator. “We believe that focusing on reducing waste from our supply chain will create a significant impact. We are excited to join prAna’s Responsible Packaging Movement and collaborate with like-minded brands as we work towards eliminating plastic and virgin forest fibers from our packaging.”
