Gregory Expands Team, Headquarters

Closing its fiscal year, Gregory Mountain Products, a provider in backpacks and active travel gear, saw a 16 percent net sales growth globally in 2021. Key markets supporting the brands success include North America, which experienced a 62 percent growth in sales, and Europe which experienced a 36 percent growth in sales over the previous year.  The numbers mark an impressive recovery after a challenging few years.

The growth performance speaks to Gregory’s team, authentic products and committed community. Small to midsize packs, including hydration packs, experienced the largest gain. Gregory correlates growth in the category to strong brand momentum and increased participation in outdoor recreation-related to the pandemic.

According to the 2021 Outdoor Participation Trends Report, 53 percent of Americans ages six and over participated in outdoor recreation in 2020, the highest participation rate on record.

Amid this record growth, Gregory expanded its team and Salt Lake City-based headquarters. The headquarters, located at the base of Mt. Olympus in the Wasatch Mountains, is home to the brand’s sales, marketing, operations, research and development, and in-house prototype lab.

The expanded team includes new hires in planning, marketing, product creation and consumer experience. The senior leadership team grew with veteran staff in sales, operations, marketing and product development receiving promotions.

In addition, Gregory’s longtime leader of 20 years, John Sears, was promoted to General Manager overseeing global brand strategy and growth.
