GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill Event Raises $75,000+ for Camp Colton

Kahtoola announced its 16th annual GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill event in February raised more than $75,000, a record amount for the event. The money will be used for environmental education programs at Friends of Camp Colton. The 2023 event broke several records, for fundraising and participation, with nearly 400 racers racing up the mountainous slopes of the Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff, Ariz.

“The GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill brings people of all ages together for an evening of fun and adventure,” said Ari Wilder, executive director of Friends of Camp Colton. “All of the proceeds from this much-loved race support Camp Colton outdoor programs for kids. Over the years, this race has made the camp experience possible for thousands of local kids. The Kahtoola Uphill and Camp Colton make our mountain town special, and we appreciate being part of a community that embraces challenges and learning in nature.”

In addition to raising funds for Friends of Camp Colton, participants in the race are eligible to win dozens of raffle prizes from pinnacle outdoor brands and local companies.

Sponsors this year included GORE-TEX, W. L. Gore & Associates, Lumberyard Brewing Co., and the Arizona Snowbowl.

Since its inception, the GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill event has raised almost $600,000 to help educate the next generation of environmental stewards. For more information on Friends of Camp Colton, contact Wilder at ari@friendsofcampcolton.org or call 928-864-8129.
