Geartrade, an independent online resale platform for used outdoor gear and apparel, has joined The Rock Fight podcast as a presenting sponsor.
With the sponsorship, Geartrade continues its national efforts to raise the profile of re-commerce within the outdoor community as well as supports an emerging media voice that shares the company’s commitment to seeing – and doing – things in a different way.
“Geartrade and The Rock Fight have a ton in common. We both have a shared appreciation for the outdoor industry and all that’s great about it, as well as familiar angst about its uneven commitments to true sustainability,” said Aaron Provine, president of Geartrade.
The Rock Fight is hosted by Colin True, a 20-year outdoor industry veteran. The podcast was launched last November. The show lists more than 82 episodes on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, as well as other platforms.
Described as the place “where we speak our truth, slay sacred cows and sometimes agree to disagree,” The Rock Fight hosts regular conversations about equipment, environmental policy and events, as well as taking deep dives into outdoor culture with topics such as outdoor movie reviews and trailhead debate topics.
Guests on The Rock Fight have included outdoor voices such as Steve Casimiro, Mike Rogge, Paddy O’Connell, Fitz Cahall, Brendan Leonard, Justin Housman, Ken Pucker, Kenji Haroutunian and Sophie Benson.
In addition to headline sponsorship and live reads, Geartrade and The Rock Fight are exploring co-branded content opportunities, including a The Rock Fight “takeover” of the Geartrade blog, as well as guest appearances by Provine on the podcast.
