Fleet Feet Gathers 15K on National Running Day

When you think of running, most people envision a lone runner pounding the pavement on the weekend. Running is in fact about community, the popularity of races and after work clubs can attest to the collegial nature of the sport. So on National Running Day on June 1, running specialty retailer Fleet Feet Sports hosted an All4Run, a nationwide group run at all 162 Fleet Feet Sports locations in the United States, covering 38 states and the District of Columbia.

More than 15,000 runners participated nationwide at Fleet Feet Sports locations. In addition, Fleet Feet had 10 cities whose mayors proclaimed this week’s All4Run Day in their cities including Sacramento, Calif, Louisville, Ky. and Rochester, N.Y. Several events were attend by several hundred runners, including Louisville (310); Rochester (227); Carrboro, N.C. (186); Mechanicsburg, Pa. (120); and Stuart, Fla. (120). In addition to showcasing the breadth, importance, and influence of running communities across the country, Fleet Feet Sports also celebrated its 40th anniversary on June 1.
