Film Festival Flix Announces the 2019 MAFF Gathering

Drawing from a lifetime of experiences and connections, we’re offering access to education, friendships, instruction, and resources to inspire and power your outdoor adventures.

Film Festival Flix announced that the 2019 MAFF Gathering (Mountain & Adventure Film Festival) will take place at the Shady Cove Group Campgrounds on Keller Peak in Big Bear, Calif., September 27 – 29, 2019. The MAFF Gathering is a three-day “gateway” festival connecting outdoor enthusiasts and the outdoor curious.

“Entering our 5th season, we’re excited to return to our grass roots,” shares festival director, Benjamin Oberman. “Our past festivals at Snow Valley Ski Resort, The Notch on Mt. Baldy, and all over Los Angeles were epic. Refocusing on our original community driven mission, we are returning to our idea of an amplified, but still intimate group campout.”

Attendees can campout for the weekend or join for a day – hang in the campground or explore the surrounding areas which offer access to climbing, slacklining, yoga in the forest, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, lake swimming, and downhill skateboarding. In the campground will be music, friendship, eating, drinking, and of course, awe-inspiring films after dark.

Friday night’s climbing films are being Presented by the Vertical Life Film Festival. Saturday night’s adventure sports films are being Presented by the Mountain & Adventure Film Festival.

The 2019 MAFF Gathering is Presented by Film Festival Flix with support from Arc’Teryx LaBrea, Yeti, Rim of the World Climbing Club, Lake Arrowhead Film Festival, Climbing Magazine, Earth Play Retreats, Yoga Squirrels, and Yoga Slackers.
