Dick’s Sporting Goods to Open More Public Lands Specialty Stores

Dick’s Sporting Goods will expand its outdoor specialty retail brand Public Lands, opening four stores this fall. The stores will open Oct. 14 in Framingham, Mass; Oct. 21 in Melville, N.Y.; Oct. 28 in Kennesaw, Ga.; and Nov. 4 in Medford, Oregon.The company already has locations in Pittsburgh; Columbus, Ohio; and Charlottesville, Va., as well as an e-commerce site.

Dick’s Sporting Goods debuted in September 2021 its first Public Lands store in Pittsburgh. The store concept is focused on helping people get outside to explore and protect America’s public lands and carries an assortment of outdoor and lifestyle apparel, footwear and equipment brands. One percent of all Public Lands sales go back into local and national conservation efforts.

The company said that in its first year, Public Lands donated one percent of all sales to the Public Lands Fund, which has granted more than $500,000 to 15 local and national partners dedicated to conservation and increasing access and equity in the outdoors.

Additional grantees will be named in the new store communities at their respective grand openings, the company said.
