Big Agnes Gears Up for Growth with Product Development, Sourcing Hires

Big Agnes, the Steamboat-Springs-based outdoor equipment brand, announced a several hires to its product development team. As the brand grows and evolves in its twentieth year of operation, it has enlarged its team. Joining the company’s product development team are Bryan Davis, Leanne Thompson and Monica Welcker, while Tim Leroy joins the sourcing team.

Davis, the brand’s new Director of Product Design and Development, brings nearly 30 years of product development experience within the snow sports and outdoor industry. Most recently a Senior Director in hardgoods design innovation at Burton Snowboards, Davis is an experienced leader in product design and brand strategy. In his role, he will be leading the company’s team of designers and collaborating with development and sourcing teams to maintain Big Agnes’ positioning within the market. Davis will also oversee development and execution of product, assortment and strategy for the product line.

Thompson, a new Senior Product Designer at Big Agnes, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a background in hard goods design. Thompson previously held design roles at Black Diamond and Blue Ice.

Welcker joins Big Agnes as a Senior Product Designer. With a degree in Industrial Design from Virginia Tech, Welcker previously worked for Ruffwear, designing outdoor adventure products for dogs, including packs, harnesses, outerwear and accessories. Welcker is thrilled to join the team and to make the shift from designing canine gear to human gear.

Leroy joins the sourcing team as a Manager of Quality, Compliance and Sustainability, with more than 12 years of experience. Leroy previously managed quality and social compliance for PetSmart Inc., and, most recently, Smartwool.
