A Match Made in Steamboat – Point6 To Sponsor SBT GRVL

Point6, a family-owned manufacturer of merino wool socks, base layers and accessories will join the  Steamboat Gravel event in 2021 as an official sponsor.

The event, scheduled for August 14-15, will feature a record 3,000 riders from all 50 states, double the total of the 2019 edition. Available slots sold out in 10 minutes.

Point6 will be the “Official Merino Sponsor” and a Silver Level sponsor. Racers, families and friends will be able to check out products in the Expo area. The racecourse’s infamous corkscrew section also will be sponsored by Point6.

SBT GRVL has become a success story through tight engagement with participants and by making smart policy choices. Prize money, for example, is equal across genders. Fifty-five thousand dollars has been raised by the race for advocacy partners in the past two years, and the event has grown to include four courses, numerous male and female professionals and an entire weekend of activities for riders and spectators. This year, there is even an e-bike division.

For Point6, the partnership was natural. “We’ve been so impressed with the growth and commitment of SBT GRVL over the years,” says Point6 Marketing Manager Lib Diamond. “The event has become a significant contributor to all of Routt County.”

Owner and co-founder of SBT GRVL Amy Charity added. “We are excited to partner with Point6, a local Steamboat business, with values aligned to ours, such as their culture of giving back to important causes. Our event takes pride in working with companies whose products are something that we want to wear, ride and use ourselves. That is certainly the case with Point6 in their commitment to making sustainable Merino wool products that optimize performance.”
