The award recognizes Certified B Corps that verified B Impact Scores in five impact areas — community, customers, environment, governance and workers. tentree was recognized for its impact in the Community category.
Community winners of the B Corps Best for the World award were acknowledged for “exemplary practices and policies directed at community impact.” tentree’s tree planting initiative is a major part of the company’s mission and, as its namesake indicates, the brand plants 10 trees for every item purchased to regenerate ecosystems, capture carbon and provide planting jobs in communities worldwide. Eighty-one million trees have been planted to date, creating more than 365,000 hours of paid work, producing 13,906-plus tons of food, and restoring more than 4,918 hectares of coastline.
