Jones Snowboards Names Marketing Director

Winter apparel, backcountry gear and snowboard brand Jones Snowboards announced Josh Nielsen as the new Marketing Director. Nielsen is an outdoor industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience in brand marketing, film production and community-centric sports marketing.

Founded in 2009 by professional snowboarder and environmentalist Jeremy Jones, the Jones brand has expanded to snowboards, split boards and backcountry accessories, along with a complete line of technical winter outerwear.

The new outerwear line features a range of garments that balance performance and durability with sustainable manufacturing and material standards.

Nielsen will draw on his experience working as Senior Director of Global Marketing for Patagonia and Director of Production for Teton Gravity Research. He will oversee the marketing of the new outerwear line, as well as Jones’ well-established hard good lines.

Well-versed in the technical outerwear industry, Nielsen will support the launch of the outerwear collections. “Jones’ approach to developing innovative hard goods with a focus on environmental footprint reduction has been impressive. It’s great to see those same design values at work as the company expands into technical outerwear.”

Company founder Jones looks forward to Nielsen joining the team. “Josh and I go back to the early days of TGR and have spent a lot of time in the mountains and the editing bay together,” he said. “I’ve had a front-row seat watching the evolution of his career and have always wanted to work with him again. He is the perfect person to help Jones develop a more globally unified and integrated marketing message that embodies the Jones’ ethos of living responsibly and giving back to our community.”
