Virtual Women’s Outdoor Summit ‘21 Set for March 11-13

In celebration of International Women’s Month, Teresa Baker has teamed up with JAM Collective and Ravel Media to launch a virtual Women’s Outdoor Summit for women of the outdoor industry to connect and learn from one another.

The three-day event is slated for Thursday, March 11, to Saturday, March 13.

“My hope is to engage women across the spectrum, to reimagine their possibilities without limits,” said Teresa Baker, founder of In Solidarity Project, which includes the Outdoor CEO Diversity Pledge. “From outdoor spaces to indoor conversations, I want women to roar with hope.”

The event is free with a suggested donation to the In Solidarity Project to help fund future grants. The full schedule of panels and discussions will be released in mid-February. Registration opens in mid-February.

Companies interested in sponsoring the event can email womensoutdoorsummit21@gmail.com.

The summit will be geared towards cis and trans women, as well as people who experience gender discrimination in their outdoor professional and personal lives. The event welcomes all people who are comfortable in a space that centers on the experiences of women.

In 2017, the first Women’s Outdoor Summit for Empowerment took place at the Presidio in San Francisco. More than 200 outdoor enthusiasts, CEOs and female leaders who made their playgrounds, workplace, and careers in the outdoors took part in the two-day event.

The second event will be virtual using an interactive and accessible broadcasting platform. With more than 400 individuals expressing interest in attending, the organizers are projecting to engage more than 1,000 attendees over the course of the event.

“We look forward to three days of sharing, learning and supporting each other,” Baker said.
